Leading wealth management and professional services firm Tilney Smith & Williamson is continuing to recruit new talent during the COVID-19 crisis. The latest additions to its financial services business are Richard Lindop, Lindsay Spencer and James Grayson each of whom previously worked at Brooks Macdonald and has joined as investment management director.

Richard joins Tilney Smith & Williamson in Leeds. At Brooks Macdonald he was an investment director and also sat on the fixed interest committee. Prior to this he held roles as wealth manager at Barclays Wealth & Investment, and investment manager at Investec Wealth & Investment.

James and Lindsay will be based in Tilney Smith & Williamson’s Southampton office. Both spent nearly 11 years at Brooks Macdonald, latterly as Senior Investment Directors. Prior to this they worked at Thesis Asset Management

Prior to their merger in September 2020, both Tilney and Smith & Williamson successfully migrated to a remote working model ahead of the first lockdown in mid-March. Teams are currently working from home, with investment managers’ and financial planners having full access to group systems through secure technology.

John Bunch, Chief Commercial Director, commented: “In these uncertain times, it is imperative to have a well-managed investment strategy in place and in Richard, James and Lindsay we are delighted to welcome three highly experienced investment managers to our team. Despite the unusual environment of a national lockdown, we are continuing to build-out our team with the hire of further talent. This is a very exciting time to be joining Tilney Smith & Williamson following last year’s merger. The business has an unrivalled range of services to support clients and I believe we can provide great career opportunities for talented professionals.”
