Paul Frame visits Marie Curie
The 31 strong Glasgow team at leading private client investment and financial planning group Tilney Bestinvest has begun its fundraising activity for Marie Curie’s ‘Pay for a Day’ initiative. The team aims to raise £7,000 for the charity’s Glasgow hospice; the equivalent cost of a whole day of care*.
The fundraising, which launched this week with a women’s networking event, will also involve the Glasgow team taking on personal and team challenges. All proceeds raised will support the hospice which provides specialist care and familial support for people living with a terminal illness. The sponsored date, Mother’s Day 15th March 2015, has been chosen specifically as a mark of respect to all those who have lost loved ones in the hospice.
Paul Frame, Managing Director and Head of Tilney Bestinvest, Glasgow; also a member of the Marie Curie Hospice Glasgow Development Board said: “Marie Curie is close to the hearts of many of the team at Tilney Bestinvest, and a number of us have received personal support from the charity.
“The Glasgow Hospice’s team is exceptionally professional and supportive in the most challenging of times for patients and their families. It is easy for the public to miss the appreciation of the funds required day to day to keep each individual hospice open. It costs the charity £6,479 to provide 24 hours of care at the Marie Curie Hospice in Glasgow alone. ‘Pay for a Day’ is therefore a really impactful way for us to show it our support, as well as providing an opportunity to give back to the hospice that has given so much to so many of us.”
