Leading investment and financial planning group, Tilney Bestinvest, is pleased to announce the appointment of David Cummins as Director, Financial Planning as it progresses its strategy of expanding its regional financial planning presence. Cummins will be based in Tilney Bestinvest’s new office in Maidstone and will report to Richard Dawes, Managing Director of Financial Planning at the firm.

David Cummins has 25 years of experience advising private individuals and their families on their financial plans and is a Chartered Financial Planner, which is recognised as the ‘gold standard’ for financial advice in the UK. He is an Associate of both the Institute of Financial Planning and the Personal Finance Society (PFS) and is the PFS’s Education Officer for Kent.

David joins Tilney Bestinvest from European Wealth where he was Senior Financial Adviser in their East Malling office. He has previously worked at St. James’s Place, Halifax Bank of Scotland and Equitable Life.

Richard Dawes, Managing Director, Financial Planning, commented: “We are delighted that David has joined the team. He is a hugely experienced financial planner who has advised individuals and their families in Kent and the South East for many years and will spearhead the growth of our financial planning business in Kent. The radical shake-up of pensions being introduced next year means there has never been a more important time for people to seek high quality, professional advice on their financial plans and that underpins our ambitious plans to double the size of our financial planning team over the coming months.”
