Bristol-based professionals at Smith & Williamson, which is part of leading wealth management and professional services firm Tilney Smith & Williamson, have advised on the sale of beauty and personal care brands business Brodie & Stone to Creightons, a manufacturer of personal care, beauty and fragrance products that is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Paul Duckworth, partner, business tax, provided tax advice to Brodie & Stone and to the vendors. Marcus Graham and Tom Murphy, from the transaction services team, provided vendor assistance and SPA (sale and purchase agreement) advisory services on the transaction.

London-based Brodie and Stone sells beauty and personal care products under the T Zone, Natural World and Janina brands, primarily to retailers in the UK market. Viaderm, a high-quality bespoke manufacturing business, was carved out of the group pre-deal.

Brodie & Stone’s products bring additional strength to Creightons’s coverage and category presence with key mainstream retailers in the UK market in its core categories of skincare and haircare. The brands also offer significant opportunities to Peterborough-based Creightons for extending distribution, particularly in international markets.

Michael Eggerton, founder of Brodie & Stone said: “Smith & Williamson’s transaction services team produced analysis and guidance that cut through complex financial information to provide necessary clarity and confidence to the stakeholders in this transaction. The team’s support, advice and persistence were an invaluable part of the sale process and was key to a successful outcome.”
