Nominations to the Board of Alliance Trust plc

Tilney Bestinvest confirms that the firm intends to vote shares held in discretionary accounts in favour of Resolutions 14, 15 and 16 at the Alliance Trust plc Annual General Meeting on 29 April in favour of the election of Anthony Brooke, Peter Chambers and Rory MacNamara be elected as Directors of the company.

After due diligence and consideration of the issues raised by both the Board of Alliance Trust plc and Elliott Advisors (UK) Limited who have nominated these three proposed non-executive directors, we have concluded that the three proposed directors are independent and that they will bring additional expertise to the Board of Alliance Trust to the benefit of shareholders.
