Matt began his career in the financial industry in 2003, quickly advancing to become a risk assessor for a US multinational before securing a place as a derivatives trader. From there, he went on to join the Truro branch of Charles Stanley in 2012 before moving to Walker Crips in 2015. Matt will continue to specialise in constructing and managing portfolios for private clients and their families, companies, charities and trusts directly and via the region’s financial advisers.
Matt will formally be part of Evelyn Partners’ Exeter office at Sterling Court in the heart of the city, which offers clients across the West Country locally delivered, personal financial planning and investment management services. However, he will remain based in Cornwall and have a particular focus on growing the firm’s presence in the county.
Mark Wilkins, Head of Evelyn Partners’ Exeter office commented: “I am delighted to welcome Matt to our team. Since we added a locally-based investment management capability in Exeter for the first time last year, we have seen growing demand for this service from our clients. Matt brings considerable investment management experience and knowledge of the local market, and I’m sure he’ll be a great asset to our business, particularly as we continue our expansion in Cornwall.”
Matt added: “As someone focused on delivering a high-calibre service to clients, I am delighted to be joining a firm with a strong heritage for professional expertise and exceptional personal service. Customer needs are evolving, so it is increasingly important to offer personalised solutions that continue to meet their goals. I am reassured that as the UK’s leading integrated wealth management and professional services group, Evelyn Partners is well-positioned to look after the wealth and tax needs of clients and their businesses both now and in future.”
