Experience

Jonathan has provided professional investment management services, both on a discretionary and non-discretionary basis, to a diverse range of private clients, multi-generational families, trusts, SIPPs and charities for over two decades.

He ensures each portfolio is tailored to the requirements of the specific client by working closely with them on long-term investment strategies. For suitable clients, Jonathan’s team also introduce AIM listed investments in a dedicated portfolio for those who are considering inheritance tax (IHT) planning.

Jonathan is the fifth generation of the Cunningham family providing investment services in Belfast joining Cunningham Coates in 1995 which became part of the Smith & Williamson Group in 2001 and rebranded to Evelyn Partners post the merger with Tilney.

Having managed the Belfast office for over a decade he stepped back to focus on clients in 2019.

Professional qualifications/memberships

PhD from Durham University, executive MBA from Queen’s University Belfast, Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).

Personal Interests

Manages a small farm with Shropshire sheep, extensive tree planting and a water turbine the main focus.
